The Montessori Method is an educational method developed by Dr Maria Montessori based on 50 years’ observation of how children behave in the classroom.
Her internationally practiced method is geared towards the child’s inner discipline and the development of the child’s potential. Its objective lies in the self-motivation humans have for learning, as well as the desire to do things for themselves automatically.
Learning is a process developed through experiences lived in one’s surroundings, and consequently, Montessori classrooms offer the child an attractive environment that arouses the desire for exploration. Both the setting and materials are designed to motivate the child to work and investigate independently, promoting self-learning.
